The Wise Men are given the names Gaspar, Melchior, and Balthasar in this Romanesque mosaic from the Basilica of St Apollinarius in Ravenna, Italy. In fact, their number is unknown as it was never stated in the Bible; only that there were three gifts — the supposition that this implied three givers is speculation.

Sri Govardhan Annukut Day: Giriraj Puja and Abhishek

This is the continuation of previous episode. In this coverage our Guru Maharaj, Sri Srimad Bhaktivedanta Narayan Goswami Maharaj led the worship of Sri Giriraja which culminates in the abhishek or bathing ceremony of Sri Giriraji. Pujyapad BV Tirtha Maharaji led the recitation of mantras and facilitated the bathing ceremony along with the help of other Tridandi sannyasis and brahmacaris.







Sri Govardhan Annukut Day: Go Puja and Giriraja Annukuta

18 October 2009. Today is Annukut Festival. Just as Krishna instructed, today Srila Gurudev led the devotees in performing puja (worship) to the cows, brahmin, and vaishnavas before performing worship of Govardhan Hill. Everyone was busy making many preparations today to offer to Giriraji. It was announced last night that instead of worshipping Indra the Kng of Heaven, we should just worship Govardhan. So today a huge procession took place. All devotees are carrying on their heads many varieties of preparations to offer to Haridas Varya (best servant of Hari) Sri Govardhan.
